Tips For IBPS PO Mains Exam
With just a day left for the Exam, the first and foremost thing is to be confident about what you have prepared till now, revise the basics thoroughly and do not unnecessarily get involved in any new topic that you have not studied till date. Half the battle will be won here. Next is to focus on the exam day and take the exam with confidence and a cool mind to make a place in the list of successful candidates.
- Know The Exam Pattern And Strategize Accordingly
Although this aspect (Exam Pattern) of an exam is taken lightly by many of the candidates, but knowing the Exam Pattern well is very important as this will help you in devising a good strategy for yourself. At this point of time, many of you must be knowing the pattern for the exam. As the Exam this year has Sectional Timing so one must plan a strategy to attempt a certain number of questions in the stipulated amount of time. The exam might be tough or moderate and the attempts may vary accordingly. But you should go into the exam with your own strategy to attempt maximum number of questions in the exam as per your own strengths and weaknesses. The Section-wise Exam Pattern is given below:
|SECTION||NUMBER OF QUESTIONS||MARKS||DURATION|
|Reasoning & Computer Aptitude||45||60||60|
|General/ Banking/ Economy Awareness||40||40||35|
|Data Analysis & Interpretation||35||60||45|
In addition to this, there will be a Descriptive Paper of 30 minutes, based on English Language (Letter Writing and Essay).
- Reasoning And Computer Aptitude
Reasoning is one such section which though is time consuming but if attempted with the right strategy can help you fetch high marks. Try to start with the questions where you are more confident and which are also less time taking. This will help you save a lot of time, boost your confidence and also help you attain the minimum cut-off marks for the section. Puzzles though lengthy but if solved with patience can guarantee 100% accuracy. Most importantly, do not go in for any kind of guess work. It is very important to have a high accuracy level to get through the exam.
- General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness
This section has direct questions and plays a crucial role in one’s selection. If you are well aware of the last 5 - 6 months of things happening in and outside country then you will be able to solve this section well and get through the cut - off. Be sure that you are well aware of all the general banking terminology, recent bank rates, policies, along with the CEO and Chairman of the eminent banks of India.
- English Language
English section is considered a tough section by candidates when talking about the IBPS Exams but this is a comparatively easy section if prepared sincerely. Also, you can score marks in this section by attempting those questions in which you are sure about and making random guesses will not help you at all. Again, avoid guessing answers and attempt questions with utmost accuracy.
There is also a Descriptive Paper for English. So revise the guidelines of writing letters and essays to score well in the descriptive paper.
- Data Analysis And Interpretation
Level of this section may vary from moderate to difficult and is generally lengthy, so candidates end up losing time in this section. So, the only thing you must remember is that do not panic and attempt as many questions as possible with utmost accuracy. The questions may seem lengthy and tough but are based on basics only. So, try to recall your basics and solve questions with full accuracy. Do not make guesses, answer only those questions which you are sure about.
- Do Not Panic
Finally, with just a day before the D-day, be confident, do not panic, take the exam with a calm mind. Even, if you find the paper tough, still do not lose your cool because if it is tough, then it will be tough for everyone. So, attempt as many questions you can with 100% accuracy. Devise a strategy beforehand to attempt maximum questions within the given time frame. Just revise the important things that you have studied till now on this last day and take a few Mock Tests to be in that Exam Mode.
