Finland's Social Democrats elected a 34-year-old Sanna Marin as prime minister. She became the youngest head of government in the country's history.

Sanna Marin narrowly won yesterday's vote to replace outgoing leader Antti Rinne, who resigned after losing the confidence of the coalition partner Centre Party over his handling of a postal strike.

Marin has been a member of the Parliament of Finland since 2015 and the Minister of Transport and Communications since 6 June 2019
