Justice SA Bobde sworn in as 47th Chief Justice of India.

Justice SA Bobde (63) was sworn in as 47th Chief Justice of India (CJI). Justice Bobde will succeed in justice Ranjan Gogoi.

President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Bobde will serve as the leader of the judiciary till April 23, 2021.

About SA Bobde:

Chief Justice SA Bobde's career as a judge began in March 2000, when he was appointed as an Additional Judge in the Bombay High Court.

He is a former Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. He is also serving as the Chancellor of the University of Delhi and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.
