Kurnool airport gets DGCA nod
Jan. 19, 2021

The directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) has accorded aerodrome licence for public use to Orvakal greenfield airport in Kurnool. Orvakal is one of 50 low-cost airports proposed across the country to enhance air connectivity to remote areas by grounding no-frills facilities which are energy-efficient with minimum security hold.

The foundation stone for the airport, which is spread over 1000 acres, was laid in June 2017 and inaugurated in January 2019 by then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
