SSC CHSL - Important Dates & Exam Pattern

2021 has come with new hopes for all the aspirants. 2020 was year hit hard by the pandemic, postponing all the exams & joinings. But 2021 has come with new vacancies announced & exam dates being finalized.

Exams conducted by SSC are the most sort after by majority of the aspirants. With the exam level being not so high, constant practice & disciplined efforts can land you a good successful career.

In this Blog, we bring to you the important dates & exam pattern of SSC CHSL which is around 3 months away from today.

The exam though notified in 2021, goes by the name SSC CHSL 2020 since it could not be conducted last year & those seats remain to be filled. The official notification PDF is attached here for reference.

SSC CHSL 2020 Official Notification

It is highly important to go through the Official Notification as it gives a clarity on the criteria for appearing in the exam, educational qualification, posts notified, number of vacancies & most importantly the exam pattern & syllabus.

The online registration was open from 6th November 2020 - 15th December 2020. All those candidates who have successfully completed the registration process without any error in their application would be called to sit for the Tier-I exam 12th April 2021 - 27th April 2021.

Scheme of Examination:

1. SSC CHSL exam consists of 3 Tiers.

    Tier - I: Computer Based MCQ Examination.

    Tier - II: Descriptive Paper (Pen & Paper mode)

    Tier - III: Skill Test/ Typing Test

2. Each correct answer in Tier - I fetches you 2 marks & 0.5 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. 

3. The level of the exam is not high & a knowledge of 10+2 level is expected from the candidate. Following is the exam pattern of CHSL Tier - I

With proper strategy & daily practice, an aspirant can easily clear all the 3 - stages of the CHSL exam.

Also, it is a must that an aspirant should be well acquainted with Previous Year Papers as they help you identify which area to focus upon & which to leave. Past Paper analysis is a must to know the changing trends of the exam & to judge the level & type of questions.
