Exim Bank extends USD 500 mn loan to Tanzania for water projects.

Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) has extended a credit facility of USD 500 million (about Rs 3,542 crore) to Tanzania for water supply projects in the African country.

Under this agreement, of the total credit by Exim Bank, goods and services of value of at least 75%  of the contract price shall be supplied by the seller from India.

Kolkata-Patna is India’s new IWT origin-destination pair for containerised cargo movement on the National Waterway-1.

The Ministry of Shipping is developing NW-1 (River Ganga) under Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) from Haldia to Varanasi (1390 Km) with the technical and financial assistance of the World Bank at an estimated cost of Rs 5369 crore. The project would enable commercial navigation of vessels with capacity of 1500-2,000 DWT.

The Maharashtra government launched an ambitious project – State of Maharashtra Agribusiness and Rural Transformation (SMART) – in 10,000 villages with an objective to achieve sustainable farming within the next three years.
