Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan re-elected President of UAE.

The UAE's Supreme Council of the Union has re-elected His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as its President. With this, he elected for a fourth five-year term.

He was elected in accordance with the provisions of the UAE Constitution.

President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was first elected President of the UAE by the Supreme Council of the Union on 3rd November 2004.

Sheikh Khalifa succeeded his father, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as Emir of Abu Dhabi on 2 November 2004 and became the President of the UAE.

About Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan:

Khalifa was born on 7 September 1948 at Qasr Al-Muwaiji, Al Ain, in Abu Dhabi (then part of the Trucial States), the eldest son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Emir of Abu Dhabi, and Hassa bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
